About Us

About Us

East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS) delivers integrated hospital and health services to a growing population of more than 828,000 people across our catchment area.

We are focused on improving health outcomes and wellbeing through connected, high-quality care that meets the needs of our diverse communities today and into the future.

Our mission remains:

Our vision reflects how we work every day - with compassion, professionalism and a shared commitment to excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.

Across our hospital network, we provide coordinated tertiary, secondary and specialist services.

These include:

  • Emergency and critical care,
  • State trauma services,
  • Elective and emergency surgery,
  • General medicine,
  • Mental health care,
  • Inpatient and outpatient services,
  • Aged and palliative care,
  • Rehabilitation; and
  • Comprehensive women’s, children’s and neonatal services.

  • Health Service Board The Board is legally responsible and accountable for the oversight of our hospitals and health services.
  • Executive The Executive group provides leadership and direction across all aspects of the health service.
  • Our Vision and Values Our vision and values capture the essence of what our staff do on a daily basis - show compassion, dedication and professionalism.
  • Strategic Planning EMHS strategic and operational plans provide an overview of key organisational objectives.
  • Work with Us We employ highly valued people who work together to provide a combination of tertiary, secondary, specialist and community health care services to our community.
  • Annual Reports The EMHS Annual Reports provide insights into our key achievements, milestones and performance.
